The other influence was the movie Xanadu. Kira was a muse - one of the nine sister muses of greek mythology, daughters of Zeus who are meant to inspire.

Weird I always thought you were named after the Gelfling from Dark Crystal and the national dress for women in Bhutan... You kinda do look like a gelfling, a pretty one though. You really should name the next animal you get Fizzgig..
